A lyrical fantasy graphic novel for all ages, Gauthier and Labourot's passion for their story is clear on every page. As quirky as Roald Dahl, as whimsical as Disney, and as beautiful as Miyazaki.

In a quiet forest the young Eleanor follows the teaching of her father, Merlin the wizard. For Merlin is dead -- killed by the horrible shriek of a mandrake root -- though his ghost will not rest. But with the help of Eleanor, Merlin's ghost won't stay dead for long and the forest will never be the same.
SÉVERINE GAUTHIER studied English at the University of Kent, and now teaches it in France. Passionate about children's literature and Anglo-Saxon history, and influenced by authors such as Roald Dahl and Shel Silverstein, she wrote her first comic scenarios: My Tree, with Thomas Labourot, and Aristide Brooding, with Jérémie Almanza. She collaborated with Labourot again on Washita (Dargaud) in 2009, and Garance (Delcourt) in 2010. In 2012, she began the series Quilt with Minikim (Dargaud). The second volume was released in 2013, when she also began a new series, Virginia, with Blary Benoít. In 2015, she published the first volume of Haida, The Immortal Whale with Yann Dégruel and Man Mountain with Amélie Fléchais (Delcourt).
